Fish plate
Ceramic reproduction of Attic red-figure fish-plate made from a Greek one from Campania. Currently deposited in the Leipzig Museum. 4th century BC.
Fish plates were first produced in Athens during the late fifth century BC. Later, some were exported to the greek colonies in the Iberian Peninsula. The name "fish plate" comes from their usual decoration of seafood items which includes various fish and other marine creatures
